LANGKAWI LAND OF LEGEND, MALAYSIA

A holiday in the land of legend, Langkawi Kedah.
28-31 December 2012.

We have earlier celebrated Syahid's birthday this morning flying a cessna 4-seater plane hovering around Klang Valley air-space (another storyline). After that jubilant experiences we head immediately North bound for Langkawi Island Holiday.

The 4 hours journey took us through the highway until Exit 177 Kuala Kedah. Then another 35 min drive through federal road to reach Kuala Kedah jetty.

We bought ferry tickets and queu to wait for the ferry. We arrived in Jetty Kuah Langkawi by about 7 pm. We took a rental car and headed to a so called homestay, Abah changed his mind later and we took a 3-star motel instead.

The motel is basic with breakfast.
1st Day started with a stop at Cenang beach and then we went straight to "Perigi Tujuh" or the seven wells.

We took a cable-car to the top of Gunung (Mountain) Mat Cincang (713 m).

At the observation tower we were engulfed in a white mist or the cloud with only 20m visibility.

The mist dispersed later and we could see the wide view of the Langkawi coastline, iles and mountain ranges.

Back in the ground Zeti & Afiq took a pony ride and then we headed to the Pasir Tengkorak (skeleton sand) beach.

Then Abah favourite is the Crocodile farm. This guy downhere is among the biggest and he was isolated because it has been injured.

Then its the tomb of Mahsuri.

It is the most revered place dated back 200 years ago.
There are also a staged performances which includes singing, dancing and story reenacting of the famous legend of Mahsuri.

Below are photos of the tomb, house and Well belong to Mahsuri's family.

Next we went for a Go-Kart ride on the track where Syahid and Afiq took their own karts to the race.

At nightfall we went for Night Market, where the locals sells delicacies, street-food and fresh produces at low prices.

You could see that the market is quite a hit among the locals and tourists.

2nd Day, we venture to Kilim Geoforest Park

Stop-over at floating fish farms, where we fed a tamed stingray and we played with horseshoe crab.

Then we went for eagle feeding spot. Quite surreal to see eagles flying around and snapping the bait.

Then we went further to border of Thailand just few kilometres from The beautiful isles of Kilim Geoforest.

A short walk into the Bat cave

Next stop is Temurun waterfall, the water is sparkling and pristine, I have never seen a water such crystal clear.

Cant wait to dive in.

Telaga Harbor Park & Marina

This is a small but a complete harbor town offering berthing facilities for small to mega yachts, full marina services, yachters work places, hotels, restaurants, bars, shopping, bank with ATM facilities, Petrol Station etc.

Burnt Rice field, where the villagers burnt all their rice stocks to avert incoming thai intruders.

Buffalo park, we tasted the sumptuous steak, ice cream and milk, all from Buffalo.

Local delicacies of Rojak and Laksa at Airport beach.

Last attraction is the Eagle Square.

Last day pack-up jetty, ferry and highway down south. Farewell land of Mahsuri.
