Beijing, China
23 - 29 June 2013
The Hotel is well located near Abah's company regional office and access to the Mass Rapid Transit and shopping areas. Its Zhao Long CBD Hotel a 5 stars hotel with good services. The room rate at about USD 133 per nite.
Short excursion to reach the shopping zones thru Workers' Stadium N Road, about 250 m from hotel.
Then we went in Yashow Clothing Market, where most vendors would communicate with you in Bahasa Malaysia/ Indonesia, fantastic....you could really find good bargain here, but the quality is moderate I guess.
On the 8th floor is the food-court with Halal stall.
There are some promotion on International brand featuring young models in-short and slippers only, it is quite happening for girls.
Then I headed to the Tiananmen Square before we walked up to nice shopping and night market place.
This guy down here was trying his best to swallows a fried scorpion... me, No Thanks.
Next day Ning Xu took us to the real deal here...what else than the real "Peking Duck" for lunch.
Look at how delicious-looking is my duck. You put the flesh in the middle of a crepe, fold it up nicely and down you go, hmm really scrumptious.
This is what I have for dinner at "A Thousand and One Night" Turkish Restaurant just in-front of the Hotel. Want to know why it has that name? see below photos...you could see some belly-dancing side-show..."wait where am I now"?
Beijing beside the heavy fog, is really quite an international city with up-scale residences to entices the rich and famous.
At night we wander around to see more up-market area. We found an indonesian colleague Pak Hary.
Redza with his impeccable taste for good tailoring give me a bit of help to choose a good fabric and tailor. We end up both bringing few shirts each home. No kidding a nice shirt cost only USD 17, thats a steal.
Then in the evening we went for the Olympic stadium, "The Nest"by MRT and really it was huge and impressive.
And that ends our short stay at Beijing.
