Once upon a town called Temerloh, about 2 hours drive from Kuala Lumpur.

 In Temerloh town we stayed at modest Seri Malaysia Hotel @ USD 52 per night b/fast included. 

After b/fast we walked for 4 minutes to the market.

Most of the hawkers are old folks from around Temerloh districts selling directly their products to the customers, so you have a raw deal and haggling is allowed.

These are the produce we get from the villages, through backyard farming....most can be eaten raw, some need bit of cooking.

They sell them alive too...

Fancy hand-made "mengkuang" mat? they're cheap too...last time I got it @ USD 7 only.

A totally relaxing atmosphere, no price fixing, money laudering....but cash-only transaction ok?

There's also the suspended steel cable bridge...

And the fresh King of the Fruit, codenamed "musang king"....

But the most iconic food in Temerloh are not all the above....please see below 

and you will not be disapointed....am not a real fan...but most folks are ready to pay good price for this fish.

It's called "Patin" or Catfish with scientific name "Pangasius Sutchi" you can buy them around Temerloh town @ USD 3.3 to 7.0 per kilo for those bred in cages and @ USD 55 for those from the rivers.

Mmmm now you see why our foods looked mouth-water-ingly delicious...

Then, half an hour drive later we are at a private animal farm, cajoling with some animals.

I guess the bird up here is the "Supermodel" among the birds...minus long legs

oops the slithering friend up here is not included in the entrance fee...
