Beijing, China’s massive capital, has history stretching back 3 millennia. Yet it’s known as much for its modern architecture as its ancient sites such as the grand Forbidden City complex, the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Nearby, the massive Tiananmen Square pedestrian plaza is the site of Mao Zedong’s mausoleum and the National Museum of China, displaying a vast collection of cultural relics.

When we arrived at the Beijing Intenational Airport, it was -7 deg Celcius! it was 1a.m. Good thing theres only one flight at that time so it was smooth walk past immigration and luggage collection.
Then we took Airport taxi, paid about 180 Yuan and we got a comfortable 4 wheele drive with a good driver. He speaks no English as expected but we were prepared with Chinese adrreses.
We arrived at the Hotel around 2.30 a.m and checked in within 10 minutes thanks to Bookings.com
The room was cosy and just right for 2 pax, cleanliness is top and equipments, fair.
We woke up around 9 a.m and walked the chilly morning (-5 deg C) breeze to find breakfast. After 20 min walking we found a McD like one below.
